Dreams of making it to the state meet came to an end Tuesday night for the Lady Lancer Track team. The 4x100M & 4x400M relay teams made it into the Regional meet by callbacks but this is where their season ended. The ladies’ 4x100M Relay team of Natalie Gonzalez, Olivia Goze, Rebekah Beehler and Kalista Lemberis won their heat but came up short of placing by 2 one-hundredths of a second. The 4x400M Relay team of Trynitie Cox, Natalie Gonzalez, Madelyn Fuchs & Kalista Lemberis came in 10th just over 2 seconds shy of the 8th place spot. The biggest heartbreak of the night for the Lancers was Kalista Lemberis’s .08-second loss to Elkhart Memorial’s 3rd place runner, one spot away from State Tournament placement.

Despite the shortcomings of the evening, the Lancers are hopeful for the 2020 Track season as all regional qualifiers and alternates will be returning with more experience and a drive to pick up where this season left off. The Lady Lancer’s finished 6-2 in the regular season meets, won the Dennis Rippy Invite, placed 2nd by .05 in the HNAC Meet and finished 7th at the Penn Sectional.
