Lincoln Hulsey and Sam Sherk finished in the Top 20 to lead the LaVille Jr. High Boys Cross Country team.
Hulsey finished in sixth place, while Sherk finished in 17th.
Ryan Maenhout led a balanced pack of Lancer runners in 24th, Aaron Platz was 26th, and Aiden Johnson 30th.
New Prairie won the team portion with 17 points, Urey finished second with 70, LaVille a close third with 73, and Knox 78.
“It was a tough course, but the kids ran the hills smart and finished strong,” said LaVille Co-Ed Cross Country coach Erin Ecker. “This is something we worked on, Aiden said he was running by another kid and they took short strides while he opened his up and was able to pass two runners and they never caught back up to him.”
The co-ed junior high cross country team will participate in the 17-team Tippecanoe Valley Invitational September 14.
