PLYMOUTH, IN. – The junior varsity basketball team played a neutral site game.
Due to a water pipe bursting in a locker room that also damaged the gym floor at Triton High School about a month ago, LaVille and Triton met at Plymouth High School.
The JV Lancers and Trojans battled all game long before LaVille came away with a 39-36 Hoosier North Athletic Conference victory.
Isaiah Herbster and Bobby Good scored six points each as LaVille got off to 14-7 lead at the end of one quarter.
Triton battled back, holding the Lancers to just one field goal in the scored quarter, to narrow the gap to 18-14 at halftime.
Strong play by Austin Dove, Jimmy Fischer, and Herbster in the second half helped LaVille keep a close lead.
The Lancers were 6-of-7 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Herbster led all scorers with 10 points, Dove and Leyton Czarnecki added eight points each to continue a balanced scoring effort. Fischer had seven and Bobby Good six.
