LaVille High School
LAKEVILLE, IN. – Aryn Eash scored a season-high 19 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Lancers to a 47-13 victory over Culver Academy.
LaVille turned a 11-5 lead at the end of the first quarter into a 41-10 gap at the end of three. Eash, Lindsey Aschenbrenner, and Haley Berger sparked the offense.
“Our ball movement was excellent today,” said LaVille coach Corey Duncan. “We made that one extra pass and got great looks!
“We have been working on boxing out and some rotation errors this week,” continued Duncan of the defense. “We definitely did both very well this game. Our guards played scrappy and got in passing lanes.”
The LaVille defense held Culver Academy to a season-low 13 total points and it was the fourth team to score 29 points or less against the Lancers.
Lindsey Aschenbrenner had 13 points, while Berger added seven, and Julia Hall chipped in with six. Eash had three assists and two steals, Nina Sajdak added three steals, two assists, and a pair of offensive rebounds.
“This was a great team effort/win,” concluded Duncan. “Each girl contributed something we needed to win.”
LaVille improves to 5-1 overall and will play host to Elkhart Christian Academy on Tuesday Nov. 21. It’s the first time since 2003-04 the Lancers are off to a 5-1 start.
Culver Academy evens out at 4-4 overall and will play in the Western Reserve Tournament on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.
