Boys Varsity Basketball · Lancer Athletics: Up Close With Basketball Assistant Jack Edison

LAKEVILLE, IN. – LaVille Athletics takes this opportunity to take an “UP CLOSE” look at our high school assistant coaches.

We continue our assistant coach series with LaVille Basketball Assistant Jack Edison.

Coach Edison says:

I graduated from Greene High School (now consolidated with Glenn High School), where I played shortstop and pitcher in baseball. I also played basketball and ran cross country.

I graduated from Bethel College (now Bethel University), where I played the same sports and positions as high school.  I graduated from Bethel with a B. S. in social studies, physical education, and health with a driver’s training endorsement.  I have a Masters degree in secondary education from St. Francis University.

This is my 13th year as assistant basketball coach at LaVille. I was the varsity basketball coach at Plymouth for 34 years.  I also coached JV basketball for two years, freshman basketball coach for three years, assistant baseball coach for four years, and assistant track coach for two years.

A not so interesting fact, my first year of teaching, I assisted the football coach with the first year of varsity wrestling at Plymouth High School – neither of us having the slightest bit of wrestling background.
