LAKEVILLE, IN. – LaVille Athletics takes this opportunity to take an “UP CLOSE” look at our high school assistant coaches.
We continue our assistant coach series with LaVille Track and Girls Basketball Assistant JT Beehler.
Coach Beehler says:
I graduated from Penn High School in 1991, where I played basketball.
I then went on to Purdue University, West Lafayette, where I earned a B.S. Agricultural Engineering Degree with a focus on Power Machinery. While at Purdue I played a lot of basketball at the rec center.
I currently work as a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Aerospace Division of Honeywell International where I support the development of Aircraft Wheels and Brakes.
This is my third year as assistant varsity track coach and first year as assistant varsity girl’s basketball coach.
I have assisted in different capacities at LaVille over the past several years in both the girls and boys basketball programs. I believe the first year I helped coach at LaVille was in 2009, where I coached eighth grade boy’s basketball.
Coaching is a great change of pace for me from my day-to-day activities at work. I enjoy the kids and doing what I can to help them improve their knowledge and skills from both an individual and team perspective. It has been rewarding to watch the growth of our student athletes over the years I have been a part of coaching.
