LAKEVILLE, IN. – LaVille Athletics takes this opportunity to take an “UP CLOSE” look at our high school assistant coaches.
We continue our assistant coach series with LaVille Basketball Assistant Steve Cox.
Coach Cox says:
I graduated from what LaVille High School in 1972, where I played football, basketball, and baseball
I then went on to Wabash College from 1972-1976, where I played forward on the basketball team. While there I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology. I have a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Masters University in Santa Clarita, California.
I am currently the pastor at Cornerstone Community Fellowship, where I have served for 26 years.
This will be my fifth year as the junior varsity girl’s basketball coach.
I have coached boy’s fifth and sixth grade basketball at LaVille for 15 years. I have also coached men’s slow pitch softball for 30 years.
I find that Teaching life lessons through competition, having relationships with players and staff, along with keeping young are benefits I find in coaching.
While attending Wabash College I had the opportunity to play in Mackey Arena and Hinkle Fieldhouse. I coached Nick Amor, Kyle Kopetski, Andrew Hostetler, Blake Berger, Adam Steinke, Luke Beehler, Rilye Cox and Leyton Czarnecki during their fifth and sixth grade seasons at LaVille.
If you cut me I will bleed “Lancer Blue!”
