LAKEVILLE, IN. – LaVille Athletics would like to take this opportunity to take an “UP CLOSE” look at our high school head coaches. We start the series with LaVille Boys Track Coach Kathe Beehler.
Coach Beehler Said:
I graduated from West Washington High School in Campbellsburg, IN. I played volleyball and ran track, where I participated in the state track meet all four years. Following high school I went to Indiana State University, where I ran track and qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 4X100 relay. I received bachelors in psychology.
I currently work in the Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program, where I go into different schools in three counties teaching nutrition education and physical activity to grades 2 through 6.
I started my coaching career as a volunteer varsity track coach, 10 years a head varsity coach. I also coached junior high track for 3 years and cross country for 5 years.
The benefits to coaching are building relationships with the student athletes. Seeing potential in them that they may not realize is there and then as they develop the skills. And then when they get to that point where they realize that they do have that potential it’s pretty awesome! I also enjoy setting goals and helping them reach those goals.
