LAKEVILLE, IN. – Webster’s dictionary defines a cheerleader as, “one that calls for and directs organized cheering.”
An additional definition indicates a cheerleader as, “a member of a team that performs organized cheering, chanting, and dancing in support of a sports team – an enthusiastic and vocal supporter.”
In our latest feature series, we asked fall coaches for the student-athlete that is not necessarily the MVP, but the one that is a team player, has that great attitude, does well academically, etc. – A Team Work Recognition Honor.
Our latest recipient of the www.lavilleathletics.com Team Work Recognition is cheer crew member Kelsey Anders.
“Kelsey Anders comes to mind when you mentioned “team player, has that great attitude, does well academically, etc.” said LaVille Cheer Coach Kelsey Miller. “She has a polite, humble demeanor with a get down to business and get things accomplished attitude that I appreciate very much.
“She helps set a great example for her teammates,” continued Miller. “Always looking out for them not only with cheer technique advice, but also offering them a poncho when it’s raining, or coming extra prepared to practices and games with chant lists, pens, extra socks, shoes, etc. She truly looks out for everyone else in every way. She understands her role on our team, and she is a hard worker. I appreciate her kind heart and maturity very much.”
