The Lancers finished the season with a 8-13 overall record and 2-5 in a much-improved Hoosier North Athletic Conference.
“We graduate five seniors that have a combined 18 years varsity experience that can not be replaced,” said coach Scot Shearer. “Madison Annis, Kamryn Gorka, Mara Medors, Mya Thornton, and Savanah Urbanksi each brought their own unique personality. Each one also brought talent, skill, and ability that will be missed.
The team improved in overall victories, batting average from .272 to .304, fielding percentage from .829 to .902, the earned run average was cut in half, and is proud to return 14 players for the 2019 season.
“We are a balanced group of returnees for the 2019 season,” said LaVille coach Scot Shearer. “We return five juniors, four sophomores, and five freshmen. That’s a strong base to start the 2019 season.
“We are excited to get some work done in the off season,” said Shearer. “We continue to look to improve our pitching, defense, and overall conditioning.”
