Boys Middle School Wrestling, Boys Varsity Wrestling · High School, Jr. High Honor Grapplers


LAKEVILLE, IN. – The LaVille High School and LaVille Jr. High wrestling teams celebrated awards recognition recently.

The high school Lancers finished the season with a 15-6 overall record.

LaVille participated in the Jimtown Super dual, Caston Super Dual, and the Mike Bottorff Classic.  Anthony Hatter (220 pound weight class) and Alex Cartwright (285) were individual champions at Jimtown.  At the Caston Super Dual, Nick Felke  (138), Matt Brown (182), Anthony Hatter (220), and Alex Cartwright (285) earned individual titles.  At the Mike Bottorff Classic, Dawson Leed (126), Nick Felke (138), Anthony Hatter (220), Alex Cartwright (285) took individual honors.

LaVille finished with a 5-1 Hoosier North Athletic Conference dual meet record and finished second in the HNAC Tournament. Conference Champions included Matthew Hominiuk (106), Dawson Leed (126), Nick Felke (138), Anthony Hatter (220), and Alex Cartwright (285).

Hatter and Cartwright also advanced through the IHSAA state tournament at the sectional and regional level before falling just short of a state championship bid at the East Chicago Semi-State.

The LaVille Junior High Wrestling team finished with a 7-6 overall record and second place in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Championships.  The Lancers participated in the LaVille Twin Super Dual and Rochester Invitational.

Paul Dewitt (145-pound weight class) earned an individual title at the LaVille Twin Super Dual.  At the Rochester Invitational, Paul Dewitt (145), Levi Stafford (160), and  Sebastian Coleman (180) took individual honors.

The Lancers took home three individual HNAC championships.  Landen Christner (120), Paul Dewitt (145), and Sebastian Coleman (180) all won titles.
