In the third period, Triton would hold LaVille on downs before quarterback James Snider found Ethan Berry on a 47-yard TD pass to put Triton up, 7-3.
Early in the fourth quarter, LaVille’s Riley Wagoner picked off Triton quarterback James Snider for a crucial play. The Lancer offense handed the Trojan defense a stead diet of Kolby Watts who rushed for all 29 yards in the three-play drive, including what would be the game-winning touchdown.
Triton had two opportunities to tie in the final 2:38 of the game.
The Trojans missed a 30-yard field goal, then following a LaVille fumble, missed on a fake field goal.
The Lancers would take a knee as the final seconds counted down.
