LAKEVILLE, IN. – LaVille scored 16 first-quarter points en route to a 30-0 first round victory in the 45th IHSAA state football tournament Friday Oct. 20.
Braxton Sauer, Dakota Figg, and Kolby Watts scored touchdowns for the Lancers, while Figg added four PATs. Corbin Brown picked up a tackle for loss, which resulted in a safety.
Sauer completed 5-of-9 passes for 97 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Sauer added 78 yards on 15 rushes, and two TDs. Watts caught a pair of passes for 42 yards and a TD.
Edgar Albarado led the defense with eight tackles, Evan Bettcher, Riley Wagoner, Robby Pope and Brown added five each.
With the victory, LaVille picked up its fourth shutout of the season and lowered its state-recognized defensive average.
The Lancers currently have the 24th Best Defense In The State Overall, allowing 12.1 points per game. LaVille has the 6th Best Defense In Class 1A
