The Varsity Football Team dropped a heartbreaker to Jimtown 6-3. Mother Nature had her way with the game – storming it out Friday night following the first quarter. The game resumed with the beginning of the 2nd quarter Saturday morning at 10:00am.
The Jimmies scored the games lone touchdown Friday night on their first drive. Following numerous possession changes throughout the first quarter, the game was halted due to lightning. After a delay of an hour or so, the game was officially postponed until Saturday morning.
Saturday belonged to the Lancers as they out played the Jimmies for three quarters winning the day by a score of 3-0 on a rain soaked muddy field. Mason Leed’s 27 yard field goal was the only scoring of the day. In an old fashion slug fest, the Lancer Defense bent but didn’t break holding the Jimmies to 2-11 on third down and 0-5 on 4th down. Ben Norton II, Isaac Eash and JC Oudes led the stout Lancer defensive effort holding the Jimmies scoreless through three quarters. Adam Steinke threw for 97 yards and Alec Baker collected 49 yards receiving to lead the way offensively for the Lancers.
LaVille travels to Glenn next Friday for a 7:30pm kickoff.
